A cascade tumbles through glistening Sierra granite in a shadowy fashion. 

Ice forms intricate patterns on any surface to give rise such curious features such as this one. 

The water continues it's tumble down the slope but in beautiful frozen form. 

Glen Alpine Falls shines on with the late evening sun on a gorgeous late day in May. 

Radiant Banner Peak displays his snowy flanks in 1000 Island Lake on a brilliant June day. 

Darkness presides over the light in this back-country lake. 

Taken in the Enchanted Gorge on the most horrible of rainy days. Given the chance the landscape always provides a gift. 

Taken in the mythical Ionian Basin the Sierra Nevada, Charybis reigns over Chasm Lake. 

A pool of water gives rise to the most fantastic cloud reflections I have ever seen. 

Also taken in Ionian Basin at a lake 12,080 FT high. Scylla and the Sirens provide vertical relief in this amazing place. 

Very few travelers get to see this lake, let alone in such a mood. Located in the trail-less Enchanted Gorge in the Sierra Nevada. Venture if you dare. 

Paternoster lakes are formed around the same time when the glacier carved this valley out and thus left 3 lakes in a row one directly above the other in Sequoia National Park. 

The remote and imposing Kaweah Peaks ridge backdrops this idyllic setting. 

The sun tries to break through the storm on this August day. This was the last day of an incredible 37 day backpacking trip through the Sierra Nevada in 2014. 

Taken on New Years Day in 2014 at Lake Aloha in Desolation Wilderness, CA. 

This tree has stood the test of time through winter snows and summer sun and shows its age. 

Winter provides access to the mountains deep sleep in the snow.
